Weary? A Prayer for Renewed Strength

Father in Heaven,
It’s been a long journey. We still quietly trust you; we wait on you. When we try to get ahead of you, the plans fail and are often costly. So we are learning quickly to depend on you and to wait on you. To not go until you say so. You have given us so much supernatural strength to follow you and do what you’ve called us to. We have been very brave and for so long, but we’re growing tired. And we feel weak. So, Lord, hear my prayer for renewed strength today.
Repentance
Please forgive us and heal us from the consequences of our disobedience. Please wash over us by the blood of Jesus. Lift the veils from our eyes so we can see what you have for us. Unblock our ears so we can hear you. Waken us morning by morning with news of your unfailing love for us. (Isaiah 54).
Worship
You are still Jehovah Raphah, our Healer, our Great Physician. You are more than able. You just say the word and it is done. You are still Jehovah Jireh, our Provider. You are still El Shaddai, El Roi, Adonai.
You know what I really want? To have my voice back to worship you again without being in pain. I want to praise you with all my strength and not with wilting arms and hunched shoulders. Strengthen me as I praise you. And strengthen me so that I can praise you. Sickness and oppression and darkness flee as we praise you. You inhabit the praises of your people, so we thank you that as we praise you, you draw near.
Joy
Truly, the joy of the Lord is our strength! Please make us laugh today. Bring us joy. We find our strength in your joy, so share it with us? Please help us have fun even though we feel weary. I love that you are a God who delights in laughter and play and joy. Show us how to play together today.
Hope
Father, you promise that those who hope in you will renew their strength. I’ve got to be honest. It’s hard to hope when I feels so worn thin. But hope is what keeps the weary going. Hope is nourishment for the downcast. Hope is fuel for those running on E.
So I tell my soul, “Put your hope in God! Remember that He has good plans! He has not forgotten you!” I know the weariness will pass and brighter days are coming. But regardless of whether I’m in the valley or the scenic overlook, I’m going to put my hope in you Jesus and not my circumstances. I put my hope in your unconditional loving kindness. With certainty and assurance and conviction, I put my hope in you. And as I do, you renew my strength so I soar on wings like eagles.
I love you, Lord. I trust you. Heal my weariness, hear my prayer, and renew my strength today.
In Jesus’ name,
amen
