Vision Retreat: Questions to Ask

When you know God’s vision for you in the coming year, it’s such a relief. It gives you a filter for all the other decisions you make about your time.
If you know you are called to intentionally set aside time to intercede for your church leadership or work with the youth or have unscheduled time so you can help your neighbor or to care for your child or your parent, it gives you such clarity.
Sometimes we try to squeeze these God-inspired tasks in between all the clutter on our schedules. But if we go in to the school year with intention and vision, it affords you a much easier “yes” to kingdom things with eternal purpose and it’s easier to say “no” to the shiny fleeting things.
Where do you start with a Vision Retreat?
- Set aside intentional time.
- Praise and worship.
- Surrender every activity on your schedule and calendar. (Including unscheduled things like social media and movie time.)
- Seek God’s vision.
(Often, we don’t know the calling on our life just because we don’t ask Him. Ask and He will answer!)
Questions to ask:
Lord, in my life in the coming year, what’s most important to you?
What are your priorities for me?
How can I best serve each family member this year?
What do we need to cut from our schedule?
What do we need to focus on?
Ask and He will answer!
And if you’d like more in depth support on your vision retreat, the Lord gave me an incredible resource that I go back to when it’s the start of a new academic year or calendar year: The Vision Planning Workbook.
Til next time… Toodle-loo, and Peace be with you.

If you want to walk in full forgiveness and the full power of the Holy Spirit, here’s a prayer to ask Jesus to wash you clean and lead you in a new life.
If you decided to give your life to Jesus today, please let us know so we can share in your new joy! And seek out someone in your area who loves Jesus and walks in humility who can help show you the way.
