The Secret to Contentment When Seasons Change
One new beginning means another season is coming to an end. Leaving us with an emotional medley of both joy and sorrow. But here’s the secret to finding contentment when seasons change.

“He has made everything beautiful in its time.”
finding contentment
God makes everything beautiful. But his timetable is not the same as ours usually. We either feel like He’s moving slow like molasses or moving too fast and we can’t keep up.
Thankfulness keeps us content.
Thankfulness helps us walk at whatever pace it takes to keep in step with Holy Spirit.
God also loves to see the work begin. But every new beginning means some other beginning is coming to an end. In transition, we can feel both sadness and relief that the last season is over and we can feel both nervousness and excitement about the unknown new season ahead.
Trust keeps us content.
Trust keeps peace and joy bubbling up in our hearts whenever we are at a crossroads, simultaneously longing for what we once had and longing for what’s to come.
when seasons change
Today, rest in these words penned by Solomon, the wisest man.
Everything Has Its Time
Everything on earth
has its own time
and its own season.
There is a time
for birth and death,
planting and reaping,
for killing and healing,
destroying and building,
for crying and laughing,
weeping and dancing,
for throwing stones
and gathering stones,
embracing and parting.
There is a time
for finding and losing,
keeping and giving,
for tearing and sewing,
listening and speaking.
There is also a time
for love and hate,
for war and peace. What God Has Given Us To Do
What do we gain by all our hard work? I have seen what difficult things God demands of us. God makes everything happen at the right time. Yet none of us can ever fully understand all he has done, and he puts questions in our minds about the past and the future. I know the best thing we can do is to always enjoy life, because God’s gift to us is the happiness we get from our food and drink and from the work we do. Everything God has done will last forever; nothing he does can ever be changed. God has done all this, so that we will worship him.
Selah.
the secret to contentment
For me, trust and thankfulness are the keys I need to contentment. But if you want to learn even more, here’s where I started developing contentment in my life…
My friend, Ms. Linda Dillow, shepherded me through her books twenty years before I ever met her in person. That’s a cool story for another day! But one of Dillow’s books, Calm My Anxious Heart, tells the story of a missionary who faced insufferable circumstances yet never complained. Dillow lets us in on her secret here.
Til next time… Toodle-loo, and Peace be with you.

If you want to walk in full contentment and the full power of the Holy Spirit, here’s a prayer to ask Jesus to wash you clean and lead you in a new life.
