Self-Reflection: Am I Living in Freedom or Legalism?

Our relationship with God is meant to be vibrant and life-giving. If it feels more soul-sucking, then it’s possible we are approaching the whole thing wrong. Religious hoops and rules suck the life out of us. But a healthy loving relationship is life-giving and healing and fills us with joy and peace. I think some good soul-searching is always a good plan. So here are some questions to ask yourself and to help you get free from any religiosity and to steer your toward healthy relationship with God the Father instead. Are you living in legalism or in the freedom Christ has for you?
Deep Dive Questions:
Ask yourself this question and don’t be afraid to deep dive into your answer. I encourage you to journal your thoughts.
-What is the difference between surrendering your life to someone and being controlled by someone?
-Are you secretly trying to earn God’s approval in one way or another?
-And are you experiencing a vibrant life of freedom in Christ? And if not, try to find the word to explain what your relationship with God is really like right now.
-If your Christian Walk feels hollow and strips the life out of you, then consider that you might just be missing the mark like I was. Ask Holy Spirit to show you what lies you are believing that are sucking the life and joy out of your life and relationship with God.
If “it is for freedom that Christ came” (Galatians 5:1)… then let’s get set free!
