Prayer Closet on Wheels

I’m not a very routine person when it comes to doing chores or bedtime routines in the same order each day or night. But one thing we do routinely is pray. And one of my favorite habits we have developed is praying on our way to anywhere. In this way, our car has become like a prayer closet on wheels.
When my little one was headed to preschool, we quickly learned how important it is to cover our family in prayer. In our comings and our goings. We developed a habit of praying on our way to preschool, and this eventually became such a delightful habit that we now pray on our way to most anywhere.
In our comings and goings, we invite the Lord to come and go with us. We plead the blood of Jesus over us. We ask Holy Spirit to fill us. And we ask for angels to surround us. We ask for God to order our steps. We invite Him to help us make wise decisions, to make divine connections, to help us minister to those around us.
No matter if we are headed to the grocery store, church, school, the airport, the park, or a friend’s house. We use our drive time as prayer time. This is a very simple habit to develop, and it reaps eternal rewards.
The Lord will keep you from all harm—
he will watch over your life;
the Lord will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.
Happy trails to you. And may your car become a mobile sanctuary, a prayer closet on wheels.
