A Prayer: Overwhelmed to Overcomer

Father, when I look at the responsibilities ahead of me and the literal stacks of to-do lists, I feel totally overwhelmed. I feel too small and the assignment feels too big.
But I choose this day to rest in the truth that You are mighty when I feel puny, and You are strong when I am weak. I’ve seen You come through my whole life, and I don‘t believe You will stop now.
I trust You. With my everything, I trust You. With all I have and all that I am, I trust You.
The assignment feels huge when I zoom out and look too far ahead. So today, by Your grace and kindness, break this down into small steps.
I remember when facing a life without my husband felt like just the thought of it might kill me, You broke it down in to one small step for the day. You kindly instructed, “Eat breakfast.”
And today, the assignment ahead of me feels supernatural and out of my scope. So I ask you to break it down for me, make the big thing smaller.
I’m asking and listening, Father. What is the one thing I can do today?
“Rest.”
Thank you when you answer with a smaller chunk of the task and how you empower me to do it. And thank you when you answer with “Rest.” How you know I desperately need it.
I love you, Lord.
In Jesus’ name I pray,
amen
