A Prayer to Hear God’s Voice

In lavender puff paint, I wrote a Scripture on the edge of my pillow back in high school and have prayed it often before bed since that time. It’s from Isaiah, “He wakens me morning by morning with ears to hear like one being taught.” Let’s pray the Word and ask God to help us hear His voice today.
Father in Heaven,
Wake me each morning with ears to hear like one being taught. Make me teachable and help me be attentive to your whispers. Illuminate your Word to me as I read the Bible. Highlight a word or passage or story that I need to hold on to today. Thank you for your Word; it truly is my daily bread. Nourishing, comforting, sustaining.
Please give me ears to hear all that you want to show me today. Prepare me for the day ahead. Fill me with the power of your Holy Spirit and wash me in the blood of Jesus. You say in Jeremiah 33:3 to ask and you’ll show me great and wonderful things that I do not know. So I’m asking in faith. Please teach me and show me what I need to know. Help me have the courage and faith to act on what you show me.
Thank you for your promises. Help me hold them in prayer and prepare to receive them.
As I open your Word, speak to my heart and my mind. Show me any crooked way in me. Show me anything I need to confess and repent of. Show me any false beliefs I’ve been clinging to. I want to walk fully in your Truth and your ways.
Help me hear your Voice and not doubt when I do. Increase my trust and faith in you as I step out to honor your Word and your Voice. I love you and trust you, Lord.
In Jesus name,
amen
Til next time… Toodle-loo, and Peace be with you.
