A Miracle: Carpal Tunnel and The Power of Praising God

My wrists popped when I turned them. As if the bones and ligaments were crunching every time I moved them. The doctors told me I had carpal tunnel syndrome. So, we tried countless hours of physical therapy, wrist braces, the works! But my wrists were still in constant pain. I needed a miracle.
praising God
When my husband deployed, the car died, and I had to take it into the shop. That night, the intense pain in my wrists woke me up. I couldn’t sleep that night just from the suffering I felt in my wrists.
The pain was so strong I could almost think of nothing else. But I sang out to the Lord anyways. As I laid in bed, I sang a soft little worship song to Him in the middle of the night.
And then I felt heat come over my wrists and the pain left. What a relief!
So, I fell back asleep.
The next day, I went to pick up my car from the shop. By that point, I had noticed that not only did the pain go away that night, but I was completely healed! No more pain! No more popping sounds! No more aching!
passing healing forward
I noticed the cashier was a young gal who had a brace on her wrist. I told her all about the wonderful miracle I had just experienced. God healing me gave me faith to pray for her! So I asked if I could pray for her and reached across the big automotive center counter. There was so much joy in that conversation, telling her all the ways God healed me! And so much hope that He will do the same for her!
When God gives you a breakthrough or a healing, you not only get healed but it’s as if you inherit a superpower faith that God can do the same healing for someone else! And you know exactly how to empathize and pray for them because you’ve walked the exact same road.
praising in the pain
There are multiple times since God healed my wrists where He healed me in the middle of praising Him. When I broke my toe. I broke it twice. The first time, I yelled out in my pain, “Jesus, I trust you!!” (The second time, I yelled out a big, “Shhhhhhhhhhh” and you can probably finish that sentence. I’m just being honest.)
God also healed me when I had a traumatic fall and my legs went numb. I thought I might be paralyzed because I could not put any weight on my own legs. As they put me into the MRI for a scan, I pictured my life ahead without being able to walk or drive or dance. And I whispered, “I trust you, Lord.” And in that moment, I felt heat come over my hips and legs. It was still a long recovery but I was able to put weight on my legs right after the MRI! And slowly, I began to regain the ability to walk again. So healed that I was able to go back to dancing and even took up Taekwondo!
Another time, my daughter had a violent virus take over and high fever. Without any other options and no idea of what to do for her, I began to praise God while holding my very ill baby… and her fever broke!
I could keep going, but I actually need to jet real soon today.
relationship with God
Sometimes, we think miracles and healing have some kind of formula. Like we have to say the right things or do some funny ritual or order of events. I’ve noticed God is a God of relationship (not religious hoops), and so each conversation and situation is different with Him… just like with our spouse or children or parents. Relationships are dynamic and changing through seasons, but healthy ones always grow closer together through it all.
So I share this in hopes that your faith will increase. I share this in hopes that your hope will rise. Whatever you are facing today, and I know many of you are in intense pain and facing traumatic health decisions, but let this encourage you today to praise God anyways! And trust He will come through, however the cards fall. He is always faithful.
Praise God FOR your miracle, but also, praise God BEFORE your miracle.
Til next time… Toodle-loo, and Peace be with you.

If you want to walk in full forgiveness and the full power of the Holy Spirit, here’s a prayer to ask Jesus to wash you clean and lead you in a new life.

Wonderful testimony of praising the LORD in the storm! Reminds me of the song 🎶 “Praise You in the Storm”
by Casting Crowns.
Keep on writing, keep on praising and keep on rejoicing in the One who is King of kings!
