A Prayer for Refreshing

Father,

I bless your name. I am grateful that you are merciful to us and that your mercies are new every morning.

Thank you that you remember we are made from the dust. You remember the frailness of our frame. Thank you for calling us to rest because of it. Thank you for sleep at night and Sabbath and all the rhythms of rest you have built in to our days to care for us.

Even so, we come to you weary today. Your Word encourages us to not grow weary doing good. You knew we’d feel this way. Please help us not give up because you promise a great harvest if we press on.

Give us joy and laughter today, because your joy is our strength.

Give us hope, because those who hope in you will sore on wings like eagles even when we feel so exhausted we could stumble and fall. You will carry us through.

And give us power, because it’s not by our own might or strength that we can keep going. It’s by Your Dunamis dynamite power.

Father, thank you for your promises that the one who refreshes others will be refreshed himself. So as we do your work today to serve those around us, I know that you will refresh us too. Thank you Father for looking out for us.

Renew our strength, our joy, our peace. Increase our faith and trust in you. And fill this day with encouragement and blessing and refreshment. We give all of our day to you.
