When You Don’t Understand

So. God moved heaven and earth to get us to Florida. It was a cool story (read it here). We got to see old friends and church family and made some beautiful memories. And then what? I got bronchitis, and then covid on top of it, and then a double ear infection on top of that, which brings us to today. I’ve had to cancel two rounds of flights and quarantine in hotels. I would say it was just no fun but we somehow manage to find fun wherever we go. (Even when my entire body feels bruised from coughing and I had chills for days.) I have a lot of processing to do about this turn of events, and I won’t do it here. But I will say one thing.
When we don’t understand, when nothing makes sense, and when we are hurting and bone weary… we can just stand firm on one little powerful prayer.
“I trust you, God.”
Just a month ago, a gentleman instructed me, “When things get weird, just pray, ‘I trust you God.” And I’ve been doing it ever since.
When I can’t make sense of a situation, I started to just say, “I trust you, God.” And I leave it in His hands. I haven’t had energy to solve problems and ask God to solve them my way. (You know those kinds of prayers.) I’m down to just, “Lord, I trust you.” And I know He’ll deal with it. Time and time again, I’ve seen Him shift things for me overnight when I’ve just given him a tough situation and trusted Him with it.
So this is short and sweet because I really have been just hanging on. But I trust that this is what somebody needed to hear. Whatever you can’t understand, whatever relational issues or financial things are going on… try truly trusting it to the Lord and don’t get in a tizzy. See what He will do.
“I trust you, God.”
Sometimes, that’s all we got.
Til next time… Toodle-loo, and Peace be with you.
