Divine Strategies for Spiritual Battle

Have you ever acted like Xena Princess Warrior and run right into a fight that either you weren’t meant to fight or weren’t prepared to fight or weren’t suited up to fight? We’ve all done it. One thing I’ve learned is we don’t want to go into battle without God’s covering and without the armor of God. I’ve also learned we want to wait on God’s timing and His divine strategies to win spiritual battles.
Each Battle is Unique
We need a good strategy when we have to face the ghosts of our past traumas, the torment after our families, the chains that have held our families captive, and the generational curses that keep us in oppression.
Every battle in the Bible was waged uniquely.
Sometimes, God whittled down the huge army to a motley crew to show His hand.
Sometimes, He called Israel to worship for 7 days and then He just made the walls crumble down.
Other times, they went head on.
Sometimes, Israel fought the battles God’s way and sometimes they tried it their own and that usually didn’t go very well for them.
So it’s good to seek God’s divine strategies in order to win the spiritual battles we face. (And to see if it is even your battle in the first place, as sometimes it surprises us when it’s not.)
Different Divine Strategies
Often, the strategy is to praise God.
Sometimes, we have to confess sin and deal with bitterness or unforgiveness before the bonds can break.
Other times, we need to fast. There are some battles that can only be won by prayer and fasting.
I’ve also heard of people getting set free when someone else blessed them. There’s power in blessing too.
And the only offensive tool God has given us is the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. The Bible is powerful and effective and alive and has power to take down strongholds and principalities. So we need to keep His Word in our hearts and wield it like a sword against the lies of the enemy.
There are plenty other resources God has given us, described in His Word. Many times the divine strategies to win spiritual battles includes a good combo of all the resources God has given us.
The good news is there’s no cookie-cutter way to fight every battle. God knows each battle is different. The other good news is that when we seek Him, He will show us exactly what to do.
Wait on God to Win
So let this be a little encouragement to you and myself.
1.) Let’s not just jump in the fight without waiting first asking if this is a fight we’re meant to wage.
2.) And if we know this is our fight, let’s make sure we don’t just charge and run in recklessly.
3.) Let’s submit to God’s guidance and lead and ask Him for His divine strategies so that we can win this battle victoriously.
4.) Lastly, let’s not just run into battle without our armor on.
May God bless you with His wisdom and timing in your battles. May you gain the victory you need for you and your family. And may you stand firm in confidence and declaration that, “Who the Son sets free is FREE INDEED!” (John 8:36).
Til next time… Toodle-loo, and Peace be with you.
