God is My Refuge: Favorite Verses about Hiding Under God’s Wings

My heart goes out to the many people I know and love dearly who are fighting such incredible battles right now. Sometimes, it can feel like there’s no way out and no where to turn. God is our refuge. And I will assure you the way I assure myself…
our hiding place and refuge
The Lord draws near to the brokenhearted. He’s our ever present help in times of need. And we can run to him and hide in him when we are hit and oppressed on every side.
We can actually hide in Him from the the trauma and the grief and loss and pain and sorrow and every dark and demonic plot against us.
We can hide in the Lord.
But how, you ask?
Just get still and quiet right now. Quiet your spirit long enough to whisper Jesus. Call on His name and He will draw near. Dwell in His Word, think on His promises. Pray in your spirit and in your understanding. Sing Him a song.
And when I am sucker punched the hardest, sometimes all I can do is come to the Lord with my tears. I just lay in the sunshine and sob and know that He is right there and He’s ok if I have nothing left to say.
He is our hiding place. He is our refuge.
Just today, I stumbled upon three different very powerful verses where God promises to be a refuge for us when we are oppressed and in trouble. May these minister to you as they did me.
Hold on to these truths. Write them on your walls. Read them as you come and go by your kitchen sink. Carry these truths in your heart and they will strengthen you.
